Good News!

Choosing to pursue my music career this year seems to be the right decision thus far. I interviewed with a journalist from the The San Diego Reader who is including me in one of her articles on starving artists. I went back into the studio and recorded "I Miss You," a song I wrote during one of mine and JT's break ups. And I am playing 3 nights in one week which is a great step forward for me. :) I still have a full show this Sunday that I'm looking forward to playing.

Last night I performed at a singer/songwriter competition with my friend Tim on guitar and Josh Boston on cajon. It was a lot of fun. Now, I've played this contest SEVERAL times and I never seem to win the judges over. Thankfully, my negative emotions have turned into an iron will and determination that they will love me and my music. So this time, I brought in 2 other players, rehearsed a lot, bought something nice to wear, and charmed them alll the way to a fourth place tie. Not too bad considering my marks last time were a 1 out of 10 from one judge.

Another cool thing happening is that a local film producer is using two of my songs in an independent modern day version of "Pride and Prejudice." I'M GOING TO BE HEARD IN A MOVIE!!

AND there is rumor of an Abigail music video coming your way in the next few months too...

In other news, I'm still running in circles trying to figure out my stage name. Abigail Lyn was going to be the new name, but now we're thinking it would be easier to just go by ABIGAIL. That's artsy in and of itself, I think.

Anywho, in my next entry I'll share with you an amazing recipe for gluten and dairy free salmon with homemade pesto sauce. I nearly hurt my shoulder trying to pat myself on the back for that one. SOOO yummy!
