Cover Girl

No, I'm not talking about the makeup. I am truly a COVER GIRL!! :)

In January, I got an email asking if I'd be interested in being interviewed for an article on starving artists. I happily obliged and the final product is here! The San Diego Reader is the largest alternative press paper in San Diego and it's FREE. This magazine can literally be found any and everywhere. I was thrilled to walk into 7 Eleven and find MY face on the cover! I was prepared for the opposite. I squealed and showed the stranger next to me and jokingly asked if he wanted my autograph to which he said, "Actually, yes, I do!" He reached into his bag and grabbed a pen and I autographed my first magazine article.

In the 3 months since I received that first email, my producer Jeff called me into the studio and we recorded a soulful version of "I Miss You." I played some great shows, got some awesome feedback, am auditioning for a musical demo cd, and will soon be hopefully booking a HUGE show this summer that would have me playing my original music for a crowd of 2,000 people!

AND, Justin and I started a Shutterbooth business (What is Shutterbooth? you ask. I'll answer that in the next blog.)

Seriously?! I am just in awe of the Lord's plans. Seriously, I never would have thought up these things. Me? A business owner? A CEO? Seriously? SERIOUSLY.

Needless to say, the past few months have surprised us and we are excited about what is coming. And, naturally, I am just praying that the Lord would help me tackle these mountains in front of me - these mountains of learning a business, overcoming fear of failure, of reaching beyond my abilities and relying on the Father to empower me, of being afraid I can't write a song which is so silly, of being afraid I can't do it all. Well, of course I can't!
