Rockstar signs with Label

Okay, so after The San Diego Reader article came out, I didn't sign with a label.

So what in the world kept me from blogging for 2 months? No, I'm not pregnant. We haven't traveled anywhere. So I quit my job to work from home, and...sit at a computer...again, why haven't I blogged?

Because I'm lame. ;)

God is and has been orchestrating some cool stuff though. I had an audition a week ago and I got the part! A composer in town has completed a musical and was looking for singers for her demo cd. She'd like to see it produced in New York. She has some connections. Otherwise, she'll begin putting together a stage production of it here in town. Maybe some possibilities lie there. ;) Anyway, at the end of the audition, she asked me how much I charge and wrote me a check! I have only ever been paid to sing in bars and restaurants, so, needless to say, I was floored and left her beautiful home especially giddy.

I also entered a singer/songwriter competition and found out I'll be a finalist at The Del Mar Fair. I'm super excited seeing as the Grand Prize is $5,000.00 and I'll get to sing 10 minutes worth of material for a lot of strangers! :) Now, I'd LOVE to take the money and make an EP (a short album with 4-6 songs), but I'm pretty sure Dave Ramsey would say that I ought to give it to Sallie Mae. :(

AND, American Idol auditions are coming to San Diego in July, so I HAVE to go. There is no excuse for me not to go. Might I just add that I was impressed with the talent on AI this season. Casey Abrams was exceptionally brilliant, Haley blew me out of the water with her ability, James made every song his, and Scotty & Lauren were great. I can't wait to get all of their new music.

On Sunday, my little sister, her hubs, and their Ninja cat, Koshka, came over and we watched Harry Potter. I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some meat for our sandwich night and eyed a bag of Apple Chips cautiously. I LOVE Apple Chips and buy them once a year because they pricey. I decided on a bag of Granny Smith apples instead and headed home to see if I could make my own. I used my handy dandy apple slicer and coated the apples in powdered sugar and cinnamon, set the oven to 425 degrees, and let them bake for 2 hours, turning them only once. They were PHENOMENAL! Seriously, so so so so amazing!

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention the part about quitting my job. I left the salon at the beginning of May to focus on ShutterBooth. Here is an idea of what it's all about.

It's funny how I thought that working from home would give me more free time. Ha! I don't think so! Anywho, this is my update. I'll be much better at blogging. Promise.

For now, I have a quiche recipe to tackle.

Meanwhile, go LIKE my page.
